Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS)
The Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) Scheme, launched by MeitY with a Rs. 490 Crore budget for five years, aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem in Tier-II and Tier-III cities by supporting 1,600 technology startups. The scheme seeks to consolidate existing startup initiatives, enhancing efficiency, resource utilization, and overall support for entrepreneurs. It provides targeted funding for early-stage, deep-tech, and pilot-stage startups, addressing financial challenges that hinder growth in smaller cities.
Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR):
The Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EiR) Support under the GENESIS Scheme provides students and entrepreneurs with financial assistance and mentorship to validate their startup ideas.
Pilot Funding Support
to startups who have validated their idea and need to pilot their product.
Investment Support
to startups that are raising funds from the market and this will bring domestic rupee capital into the Tier II/ III cities across India.
Deep-Tech Funding Support
to a select number of startups that are developing high impact solutions.
Eligibility Criteria
Nationality & Age
The applicant must be an Indian citizen, at least 18 years old and First-generation Entrepreneur.
Startup Stage & Funding
The startup should be in the ideation, validation, or early stage and must not have received external funding exceeding ₹10 lakh.
Legal Compliance
If incorporated, the startup must be registered as a Private Limited Company or LLP and should not be older than one year.
Location
Priority will be given to startups and entrepreneurs from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities to promote regional innovation.
