Smart manufacturing is a sector in which manufacturing equipment connected with intelligent systems i.e., computers to increase the productivity. Smart manufacturing differs from conventional manufacturing by decreasing the product lead time in production and also easily adaptable to design changes.
Smart manufacturing has more affinity with robotics. Additive manufacturing greatly reduces the cost involving in the research activities.
In our lab we have large volume 3D printer and other mechanical tools to support prototype fabrication.
Our lab also aims to provide the following.
Supporting startups in prototype development and also in product development.
To educate students from different disciplines about the product manufacturing life cycle and different techniques of additive manufacturing.
